🍎📚 Let's celebrate our amazing teachers and school staff during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 6-10! 🌟 It's the perfect time to show our gratitude for their dedication and hard work in shaping our student’s lives. 🙌 Let's make this week special by thanking our teachers for all they do! 💖

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we're excited to share tips on supporting our little ones' well-being throughout this month! 🧠💖

Just like physical health, we all have mental health. Mental health is our ability to engage with our emotions, thoughts, interactions with others, and the world around us.

Mental health affects how we think, feel, and act every day. The best way to protect mental health is to pay attention to it even when you’re feeling ok or even good.

As parents, there are simple yet powerful ways we can nurture our children's mental health:

1️⃣ Listen and Validate: Take time to listen to your child's feelings and show understanding.

  • Make it clear to them that you want to hear all of their feelings, even ones that make them feel bad.

  • Remind them that you are a safe place for them to always share how they feel, even those tough conversation.

  • Consistently spread the message that it is brave to ask for help when we have big overwhelming feelings.

2️⃣ Encourage Expression: Encourage them to express themselves through art, play, or talking.

  • Teaching them coping strategies and giving them an outlet to express themselves is extremely important.

3️⃣ Establish Routine: Consistent routines provide comfort and stability.

  • Children thrive on routine. Help them establish consistent morning, evening, and night routines.

4️⃣ Promote Healthy Habits: Encourage good sleep, healthy nutrition, and exercise habits.

Stay tuned! Each week this month, we'll share more tips on discussing and supporting mental health in our children. Let's work together to foster happy, healthy kids! 💕

*If you or your child would like connection to resources such as Counseling or Therapy to support your mental health, please do not hesitate to reach out to our School Counselor (Mrs. Jaime) and she can help you connect with a resource within our community.

️☁️ Embracing the Cloudy Days in P.E.! ☁️🌥️

This week in P.E. has been a blast! Our students are making the most of these cloudy days, perfecting their cartwheels and honing their basketball skills. It's amazing to see their enthusiasm!

Just a friendly reminder: please send your student with a reusable water bottle (don't forget to label it with their name) to P.E. Staying hydrated is key, rain or shine! Let's keep the energy high and the water flowing. 💧🏀
