Dedicated Dudes is a volunteer program at Valley View
that actively involves fathers and father figures in the
education and well-being of our students.

Through the Dedicated Dudes program, these dedicated individuals contribute their time to provide positive male role models, enhance school security, and support various school activities.
By participating in activities like recess, and P.E., assisting in their student’s classrooms, and engaging in school events, the Dedicated Dudes play a significant role in creating a supportive and enriching educational experience for our students.

Dear Potential Dedicated Dude,

Thank you for your interest in supporting our students here at Valley View Elementary School!

Our Purpose:

1. Increase positive male presence on campus

2. Demonstrate father-figure interest in academic success

3. Provide additional security and safety

4. Build a partnership with Valley View father-figures

Who is a Dedicated Dude?

● Fathers, grandfathers, uncles, step-father, any other positive father-figure

● Someone who can volunteer for at least 1 day in the school year.

○ We can work with your schedule!

○ You can volunteer more than once if your schedule permits

Proposed Daily Tasks:

● Arrival greetings and high-fives

● Morning announcement shout-out to your student on the intercom (optional)

● Work in child’s classroom- reading, flashcards, learning games, teacher will explain how to help

● Play at recess

● Eat lunch with students

● Monitor hallways and dismissal

● Support campus supervisors

○ Dedicated dude will not take part in any disciplinary actions

Agree to:

● Sign in at front office with ID, receive badge and vest

● Use adult bathrooms in office ONLY

● Maintain confidentiality

● Be visible with children and staff at all times

● No foul language

● Never post photos of children besides your own

● Never get personal information from other children (such as phone numbers)
